This is a delightful paddle, with an inlet that runs underneath Seapoint Road through a culvert that leads to the Cutts Island waterway; or alternatively, along the main artery of Chauncey Creek past Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier toward Brave Boat Harbor. A large section of the Rachel Carson Preserve lies within this area, teaming with Northern Flickers, Hermit Thrushes, Swamp Sparrows, and Red-winged Blackbirds among Herons, Whitetail Deer, and various fish species you will often seen cruising below the waterline.
Address: 37 Seapoint Rd, Kittery Point, ME 03905. Parking is available along the roadside at the two launch areas at this address (one launch on the left and one launch on the right sides of the road) and sporadically northeast from this address in the form of roadside pull-offs.
Please research the tides schedule and conditions before venturing. There are often invisible obstructions during low tide, rip currents, and substantial mud exposure here within 1-2 hours before and after high tide. The mud is particularly soft and deep here. There are underwater pilings that get exposed during mid-to-low tide, too. Please be cautious or else you could become stranded! The tide window is particularly short as you get further from Brave Boat Harbor and next to Seapoint Road. It is even shorter on the north side of Seapoint Road and thus only recommended to experienced paddlers.
