If you want to experience the core reasons why the York River was designated as a 'National Wild & Scenic' waterway, look no further! This uppermost access point along the York River gives you a launching off point into the serpentine waters of Smelt Brook upstream and its vicinity of undeveloped wilderness. This is the place to discover rare birds, game animals, overhanging oaks, and tall pines while be guided along by a noticeable current if you choose to time your trip with a following tide as it changes to a "slack" tide during its transition. Alternatively, you can paddle downstream into the salt marshes; there are many fingers of water that take you into wild sanctuaries.

NES will deliver to and pick-up from the York River Boat Ramp on Scotland Bridge Road, York at the times scheduled, unless an alternative time(s) is agreed upon due to availability constraints.

Address: Near 2 River Lane, York, ME 03909
Coordinates: 43.16020000, -70.70876000Parking is limited but is free. Free overflow parking is always available on the shoulder of Major McIntire Rd.

NOTE: Please research the tide chart for the day(s) you will be paddling. Getting to and from this boat ramp is challenging when the tide is at its lowest. The mud can make it difficult to access the shoreline at this location due to how much exposed land appears during the receding waterline at the tide's low point. Still, the paddling window is rather wide, here. When in doubt, give us a call. We can make tweaks to your reservation for best trip timing/duration.
